Chapter 55
Streamer mode
On this page
Streamer mode hides personal details while you stream or record your screen, so they do not end up in the stream. It is available on every plan.
Switching it on#
Settings → Privacy & my data → Streamer mode offers three choices:
- Off (default) – everything is shown as usual.
- On – always hidden, on every device you are signed in on.
- Automatic (desktop app) – only in the Coviqo desktop app (version 0.4 or newer): streamer mode switches itself on while OBS, Streamlabs, XSplit, Twitch Studio or similar streaming software runs, and off again when you close it. The app only compares the names of running programs every 15 seconds; nothing of it leaves your computer. In the browser Coviqo cannot see other programs – choose On there if you stream from the browser.
While streamer mode is active, the sidebar shows a small red Streamer mode badge instead of your e-mail address.
What is hidden#
- your e-mail address (sidebar, account and security settings, confirmations),
- invite links and codes (and the e-mail address of invited people), vanity links, room join codes, meeting links, dial-in PINs and file share links,
- previews of direct messages in the conversation list,
- the contents of notifications – in the notification center, as browser or desktop notification and as push message you only see "New message from Anna",
- IP addresses and locations of your sessions and devices, and in audit logs.
Links and codes show •••• with an eye next to them: click the eye to show that one item briefly (for example when you need to copy a code), click again to hide it.
Tip: copying still works while an item is hidden – the copy buttons copy the real link.
