Accessibility statement

Scope of this statement

Dennis Albert wants Coviqo to be usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. This statement applies to the Coviqo website (home page, product and pricing pages, legal pages, contact forms), the Coviqo web application (sign-in and registration, spaces, rooms, chat, direct messages, voice rooms, meetings, settings) and the Coviqo desktop app, which displays the same web application.

We publish this statement voluntarily. As a microenterprise we are not obliged to meet the accessibility requirements for services under the Luxembourg law of 8 March 2023 on the accessibility requirements for products and services (loi du 8 mars 2023 relative aux exigences en matière d'accessibilité applicables aux produits et services), which transposes Directive (EU) 2019/882 (European Accessibility Act). We nevertheless follow the harmonised standard EN 301 549 and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA, and assess conformance against them.

Conformance status

Coviqo is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA. "Partially conformant" means that some parts of the content do not yet fully meet the requirements; they are listed below together with the planned improvements.

Non-accessible content

The following content is not yet, or not fully, accessible:

  • Captions in voice rooms and meetings: live captions and transcripts are only available in meetings with the AI transcription enabled (depending on the plan and the voice region). Persistent voice rooms have no captions. Chat in the room is available as a text alternative. (WCAG 1.2.4)
  • Whiteboard: the collaborative whiteboard (based on Excalidraw) cannot be fully operated with the keyboard or a screen reader. (WCAG 2.1.1, 1.1.1)
  • Layout editor and drag and drop: rearranging cards in the room overview and reordering items by drag and drop is not available with the keyboard everywhere. (WCAG 2.1.1, 2.5.7)
  • Video tiles: the speaking indicator in the voice and meeting grid is visual only; screen readers are told when people join or leave, but not who is currently speaking. (WCAG 1.3.1)
  • Charts: some charts (statistics, usage) have no complete text alternative in the form of a data table. (WCAG 1.1.1)
  • Content from users and third parties: images uploaded by users may have no text alternative; embedded third-party content (e.g. linked documents, integrations) is outside our control.
  • Colours chosen by communities: role and team colours are adjusted automatically for contrast in names; in small decorative markers (coloured dots) they may still have low contrast. The information is always also available as text. (WCAG 1.4.11)

Accessibility features

Coviqo supports among other things:

  • operation with the keyboard, visible focus, a "skip to main content" link and keyboard shortcuts;
  • structure for screen readers (landmarks, headings, labelled buttons and form fields, error messages linked to the fields);
  • announcements of new chat messages and of call events (joined, left, recording) without reading the whole chat aloud;
  • a light and a dark theme with checked colour contrast (at least 4.5:1 for text);
  • respect for the "reduce motion" setting of the operating system;
  • layouts that adapt to 200 % zoom and narrow screens (320 CSS pixels) without horizontal scrolling of the page;
  • live captions and transcripts in meetings (where available, see above).

Preparation of this statement

This statement was prepared on 29 September 2026. The assessment is a self-assessment by the provider: automated tests with axe-core over the main screens in both themes, plus manual checks of keyboard operation, screen reader semantics, contrast, reduced motion, zoom / reflow, target sizes and status messages. The statement is reviewed at least once a year and whenever the service changes significantly.
