Join instead of calling
Every room with the voice module has a Voice Room tab. Click Join voice and you are in. The sidebar lists who is in which voice room, so you see at a glance where the conversation is. You can move around the app – chat, tasks, files – and stay in voice.
- Microphone, camera and screen sharing in the same room.
- Speaker, grid or a compact list view – 60 to 100 people fit on one screen.
- Stage rooms separate speakers from the audience; listeners raise their hand.
- Push-to-talk, push-to-mute and a personal volume per person.
A virtual office that feels open
Set up voice rooms like the rooms of an office: a kitchen, a project room, a quiet room. People with the right permission move others by drag and drop, gather everyone in one room or split a room into groups. Anyone can Ask to join a full room.
Prefer walking around? Map rooms show a 2D office where people hear each other by distance, with doors for private talks.
Radio, discussion lead and listen-in
- Intercom (radio) – hold a key and talk into other voice rooms without leaving your own. See radio.
- Discussion lead – while the lead speaks, everybody else gets quieter on every listener’s side.
- Listen-in – hear another room quietly in the background. Only in Business and Enterprise, only where admins allow it, and always visible to everyone in that room.
Clear sound
AI voice isolation and a noise gate with automatic sensitivity remove keyboard clicks and fans – computed on your device. Rooms can choose voice profiles from standard voice to stereo music, depending on the plan. Inactive people can be moved to an AFK room automatically after a warning.
More than talking
- Watch videos together or play music in the room (from Community Pro).
- Record a voice room – everyone sees a red banner, microphones are muted by default.
- Call into a voice room by phone through a number of your organisation (Business and Enterprise, see telephony).
- End-to-end encrypted rooms encrypt the room’s calls on the members’ devices (Business and Enterprise).
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a voice room and a meeting?
A voice room is always open – you just join. A meeting has an invitation, a time, roles, a lobby and results such as transcript and summary. Both live in the same space.
Can I be in several voice rooms at once?
You are in one voice room at a time. With intercom you can still talk into other rooms, and with listen-in (where allowed) hear another room in the background.
Do voice rooms work on a phone?
Yes, in the mobile browser or as an app installed from the browser. Screen sharing is not available on phones and tablets.
Is the voice room plan-gated?
Voice rooms are part of every plan. Higher sound profiles, watching together, listen-in and some limits depend on the plan – see pricing.
